MUSICA EXPERIMENTO presenta a Roma Visual Sound 2007/8,
opere video di 34 media-artists internazionali affermati
ed emergenti, già presentate in musei, istituzioni e festival di oltre 15 paesi
nel mondo, quali National Museum
/ WRO-Festival 07, Wroclaw
- Poland, Goethe Institute,
Dakar - Senegal, Luigi Pecci Museum for Contemporary Art – Prato.
Il tema di Visual Sound 2007 è stato tratto da una riflessione sui suoni
prodotti nei nuovi media telefonici, nei segnali acustici per i consumatori,
nelle pubblicità proiettate negli spazi pubblici, etct,
sistemi che inondano l’ambiente con rumori e immagini che cambiano
la percezione di melodie, musiche e stimoli acustici.
Nelle opere video, oltre a elementi di critica sociale, sono presenti in alcuni casi
anche questioni legate alla guerra, nel
cui ambito, tramite suoni e immagini,
gli artisti riescono a porre quesiti essenziali sull’esistenza.

„Visual Sound“ 2007/8:
Visual Sound, the new DVD 2007/8 presents videos by
twenty-four international media artists. They make up the basis of 15-20
presentations inland and abroad.
In line with the overall Globalscreen concept, artists
and curators taking part are augmenting the DVD collection with their own
screenings, installations, performances, talks, workshops…
Locations and partners for the Visual Sound project
will develop continually until the end of 2008. To date, the venues planned

The Visual Sound 2007 theme has been truck upon at a time when new media
products multifunctional mobile telephones, acoustic signals for consumer
durables, advertising display screens in public spaces, etc., inundating the
environment with noise and images, are changing perceived definitions of
melody, music and acoustic perception itself.
In the current video works, socially critical contributions prevail some
of which also focus on the issue of war. Not only here, the artists succeed as
if by second nature in letting their experimental, visually and sound oriented
pieces refer their public back to existential questions of what and how we are.
